Testimonials

Ms. Sue, Thank you so much for helping (my son) over the past 10 months. You are amazing! I also learned a lot by watching you with him.

Dear Miss Sue, Thank you so much for all you’ve done for (my daughter) these past few years. I am so happy we started working with you when we did because it has been such a positive experience for her. As you know, it was a journey with some sounds being harder than others but the end goal was continually reached and she was all caught up by Pre-K. And now, I don’t think anyone would guess that she couldn’t pronounce her name! She always looked forward to working with you and is very sad that she won’t be seeing you for a while, as am I. We will keep in touch and maybe even see you around town.

Dear Sue, We cannot begin to express how grateful we are to have come across your name on the internet in search for a speech therapist. You have sincerely changed our lives. It’s hard to believe that the only sound [our son] could make when he met you was ‘g’. You are amazing! You showed him so much patience and kindness and helped him get to where he is today! We will forever be thankful for that!

Sue – Thank you for all you have done for [our daughter]! Her speech has improved so much since we started and has continued to grow exponentially in the last few months. We can’t thank you enough for all you have done.

Dear Susan, I can’t believe we have to let you go! [My son] has grown so much with his speech and I owe it all to you. Words could never express my gratitude towards you. I am so worried that without you he will not move forward. You mean so much to our family and we want you to know how much we appreciate your time, hard work and dedication to [his] speech. I remember when he first came to you he wouldn’t even say his name – he called himself “me”. He has grown so much since then because of your expertise and love. You are amazing and we will miss you!

Thank you so much for all that you do to help [our daughter]. You are truly one of a kind, always so thoughtful and patient.

Thank you so much for sticking with us during this challenging year. We know [our son] has not been the easiest student, and your patience and willingness to keep trying different tactics to find something that works. We’ve been seeing a lot of improvement recently and have you to thank!

Dear Sue, Thank you for all of your work with [my son] these past few years. He’s come such a long way with expressing himself, and his personality can finally show. We appreciate your patience as well. We know some days were a struggle, and it wasn’t the easiest. Personally, I’m going to miss seeing you every week. You have such wonderful insights on learning that I feel I’m learning just as much as [my son]! You’re an amazing person, and we’re so grateful to have had you in our lives. J.G., Parent

We are so sad to be finishing speech – you have helped make a big difference with [my daughter]. There are few experiences and people that you always will remember fondly but you are absolutely one of those rare people. [My daughter] says she wants to visit – who knows – but she doesn’t want to leave you. You have always been kind, motivating, sincere, and welcoming to [her]. She has not always been treated that way and you really helped her shine! Thank you so much! J.P., Parent

Miss Sue – Words cannot express how grateful our family is to have found you! You have helped [my son’s] speech tremendously. It has been so amazing to see his confidence shift from the work he has done with you. I remember saying he was “quiet” and you told me to wait and see how his personality changed when more people could understand him. He now would teach the planets (his favorite currently) to a stranger! Not only did you help [my son] so much but I always felt so calm in your presence. I enjoyed our chats during his sessions and you were always so welcoming and happy, you gave me confidence as a mom in how I helped and taught [my son]. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! You are truly an angel and absolutely incredible at what you do. I will forever be grateful. J.G., Parent

It’s hard to believe we have reached the end of [my son’s] therapy. We are so very grateful to you for all you have done for [my son]. His world has completely opened up now that he can effectively communicate with everyone. It is truly music to our ears to hear him speak so beautifully. This would not have been possible without you and all of your expertise. As an added bonus, it has been so wonderful to get to know you over these two years. Thank you so much! D.K., Parent

Wow! It’s been a while but it feels like yesterday my little guy was sitting in your chair. Now he’s all grown up and thriving due to the early work you put in. Words cannot express my gratitude for all you do!! You’re the Best and because of you, He’s his Best!! R.W. Parent, 14 years after dismissal from speech

Both of my children saw Susan Hammond – one over a period of months for relatively simple articulation issues and the other over a period of years for much more complex language issues secondary to TBI (traumatic brain injury). Susan Hammond provided excellent care in a respectful, orderly atmosphere with consistency, clarity, and well-defined goals. Her enthusiasm for her work set an optimistic tone for the sessions and made the work enjoyable. A decisive element in the success of Susan’s work, in my opinion, is her inclusion of the parent or other caregiver in the sessions. This allows the parent to learn both explicitly taught skills and modeled behaviors and then weave them into daily life.   C.B., Parent

My son has grown so much with his speech and I owe it all to you. Words could never explain my gratitude towards you. I am so worried that without you he will not move forward. You mean so much to our family and we want you to know how much we appreciate your time, hard work and dedication to my son’s speech. I remember when he first came to you he wouldn’t even say his name. He called himself “me”. He has grown so much since then because of your expertise and love. You are amazing and we will miss you. – Parent of a child with an articulation delay

We celebrated my husband’s birthday this weekend.  When my son went over to my husband and gave him a hug and said “Happy birthday Daddy”, my husband cried. – M.R., Parent

Mrs. Hammond is great! I took my 6 year old daughter who has Asperger’s to her. She did a thorough evaluation and then explained everything to me and my daughter in a way that we could both understand. To my daughter, the evaluation was like playing games. Mrs. Hammond gave us both ‘homework’ to improve our communication and her ability to learn. With the skills we learned at therapy, my daughter’s grades improved and our communication is much better. I was so impressed that when my younger daughter started having problems I brought her Mrs. Hammond too! Both of my kids loved going to the therapy. They would say ‘my teacher is so nice and fun.’ I highly recommend Mrs. Hammond kind, compassionate and professional speech . J. S. Parent

Words are inadequate to express our gratitude for your continued, thoughtful caring efforts on behalf of our son. His continued progress is a testament to your work. Thank you for helping to bring about a world where we can speak with our son. – Parent

I highly recommend Susan Hammond. I’ve know her for many years and keep hearing incredible stories but how transforming her work is . She is dedicated to all of her clients and keeps everyone well informed regarding progress and any concerns she has. She is known as a “miracle worker” to many. V.K.

I don’t usually write reviews in general, but felt compelled to when it comes to my experience with Susan Hammond. We had been through many speech therapists with my son before getting a recommendation from our pediatrician to see Susan for an evaluation. All I can say is that she is wonderful!! Very professional and is absolutely an expert in her field. My son loves going to therapy and has come such a long way in such a short time. We owe that all to Susan. Thank goodness we found her!! If you need a speech therapist she is the one to see!! – Parent of a child with a language disorder
